Ashley Biden, the 27-year-old daughter of Vice President Joe Biden, has allegedly been snagged in a “Michael Phelps-esque” tape snorting cocaine. The tape is being shopped around to numerous media outlets, with the seller/secret videotaper hoping to rake in $250,000.
The tape was apparently filmed this year at a party in Wilmington, Delaware. There are people talking and loud music is playing in the background. According to members of the media who have viewed the tape, Ashley, who is with her boyfriend, watches a man cut up five lines of cocaine and then jokes that it is not enough. She then pulls her hair back and snorts one line of cocaine, tilts her head back and wipes her nose. She then snorts two more lines of cocaine before the tape shuts off.
If this really is Ashley Biden caught doing drugs, it could mean professional ruin. She is currently a social worker with the Delaware Department of Children, Youth and Families, and is also a board member of the Delaware YWCA organization.
Meet Vince Shlomi. He’s probably better known to you as the ShamWow Guy, the ubiquitous television pitchman who has been phenomenally successful peddling absorbent towels and food choppers. Shlomi, 44, was arrested last month on a felony battery charge following a violent confrontation with a prostitute in his South Beach hotel room. According to an arrest affidavit, Shlomi met Sasha Harris, 26, at a Miami Beach nightclub on February 7 and subsequently retired with her to his $750 room at the lavish Setai hotel. Shlomi told cops he paid Harris about $1000 in cash after she “propositioned him for straight sex.” Shlomi said that when he kissed Harris, she suddenly “bit his tongue and would not let go.” Shlomi then punched Harris several times until she released his tongue.
ROME, Italy (CNN) — The Italian media call her “Foxy Knoxy” and portray her as a “devil with an angel’s face,” and there are 11 Facebook pages dedicated to her, all in Italian.
Both Raffaele Sollecito and Amanda Knox deny charges of murder and sexual assault.
Amanda Knox, 21, is an American college student from Seattle, Washington, who is on trial for murder in Perugia, Italy. The case has given Knox almost pop star status there.
She was voted the top woman in an online “person of the year” poll by an Italian TV channel in December, beating out Carla Bruni, the Italian-born French first lady.
Seven of the 11 Facebook pages champion her innocence; four seem convinced that Knox is pure evil. A sampling of comments: “No to Amanda. No to her superstardom” … “She’s a sociopath” …”Everyone is not sure if she is guilty or not and that she will lead us to a new existential awareness. Please shout with me your anger. … Let’s say no. Let’s say Knox.”
Knox and former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 24, are charged with murdering and sexually assaulting one of Knox’s roommates, British exchange student Meredith Kercher, on November 1, 2007. They have pleaded not guilty.
Knox and Sollecito are due back in court today. The last time Knox appeared before the panel of eight judges, she wore a T-shirt quoting The Beatles: “All you need is love.”
SQUAW VALLEY USA — Ski legend and Olympic Valley resident Shane McConkey, 39, died today in Italy where he was filming his latest movie. The news shocked the ski community.
McConkey, who moved to Squaw from Colorado in 1994, had grown popular for his BASE jumping talents as well as his big-mountain film exploits, and had won several national and international skiing competitions, including the X Games and World Extreme Skiing Championships.
Friend Scott Gaffney had known McConkey for 15 years.
“I was pretty much floored,” Gaffney said. “Everyone is the same way. They’re floored. With what he does, you picture it happening at some point, and yet at the same time, you think it’s never going to happen. The bottom fell out today.
Kim Kardashian’s aware she has cellulite, thank you very much. And she’s happy to show it to fans.
The curvy “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star proudly posted a pre-Photoshopped photo on her Web site from her sexy Complex magazine shoot next to a more polished version.
“So what: I have a little cellulite,” Kardashian wrote in a blog entry entitled “Yes, I am complex!” “What curvy girl doesn’t?!”
Bloggers gleefully poked fun at the before shot after it was accidentally featured on Complex.com for several hours.
The mag eventually yanked the picture in favor of a Photoshopped version, which cropped inches off the reality star’s legs, whittled her waist and brightened her skin.
The photo has since been removed.
“I’m proud of my body and my curves and this picture coming out is probably helpful for everyone to see that just because I am on the cover of a magazine doesn’t mean I’m perfect,” Kardashian says.
The 28-year-old also jokes that her legs aren’t looking so hot now that she’s done filming a fitness DVD: “You should see my thighs now!!! Haha!”

Now Michael Lang, the organiser of both events, is risking the Woodstock name once again by attempting to put together a free, green festival for the 40th anniversary.
All he needs is sponsorship of $10million in the next three weeks, he told The Times yesterday. “The chances that something will happen are probable but I don’t really have the answer yet as to what that will be,” he said.
